Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Out Three Weeks With Strained Oblique
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the top prospect in baseball, is expected to miss the next three weeks after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain of his left oblique. He suffered the injury in his final at-bat against the Pirates last Friday and will be shut down for the next week. The hope is that he'll return to the minors or extended spring training two weeks after that. The young slugger had four hits and an RBI in 19 spring at-bats and should be expected to miss a couple weeks into the regular season. Guerrero's injury all but assures he will open the season with Triple-A Buffalo, but he could be up shortly after that and could finish as a top-10 fantasy third baseman this year. Brandon Drury is expected to open the year at third base for Toronto.
