Tyler Glasnow Optimistic About Returning This Year
5 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (forearm) continues to make progress and is optimistic that he'll be back on the mound this year. He threw from 90 feet the last couple of days and is scheduled to throw his first bullpen session on Monday. Glasnow is feeling "really good" and will only throw fastballs on Monday. The talented 25-year-old right-hander was on his way toward a breakout season before his injury early this season. He was 6-1 with a 1.86 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 55 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings over his eight starts. While he could come back late next month, it's hard to envision him making a difference in fantasy leagues down the stretch, and the Rays are surely to be extra cautious with him.
