Tyler Glasnow Likely To Be Used In Relief
5 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (forearm), who has been out with a right forearm strain since May 10, threw his first bullpen session on Monday since he suffered a setback in June. The right-hander threw 15 fastballs and is set to throw another bullpen on Wednesday and Friday before moving to live batting practice next week. He could begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Charlotte around Aug. 30. However, he won't be built up as a starter and would be used as a bullpen option if everything goes well the next few weeks. Glasnow led the American League with a 1.86 ERA before his injury, but he won't have much fantasy appeal the rest of the year if he's working in relief or as an opener.
