Tyler Duffey Hit With Three-Game Suspension
3 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Tyler Duffey was suspended for three games by Major League Baseball on Thursday for throwing behind Chicago White Sox catcher/designated hitter Yermin Mercedes on Tuesday. Duffey will appeal the suspension. Manager Rocco Baldelli was handed a one-game suspension, and he will serve it on Thursday. The Twins took exception to Mercedes swinging at a 3-0 pitch against a position player on Tuesday in a blowout game. Duffey has been serving in a middle-relief role for the Twins this year and is sporting a 4.40 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 13 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings over 16 relief appearances out of the bullpen. He is of no interest to fantasy managers at this juncture.
