Tyler Clippard Signs With Indians
6 years agoThe Cleveland Indians signed free-agent relief pitcher Tyler Clippard on Wednesday. It's a minor league deal, but Clippard can make $1.75 million if he's on the major league roster with an additional $1 million in incentives. The 34-year-old journeyman reliever had a 3.67 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 85 strikeouts in 68 2/3 innings with seven saves for the Blue Jays last season. The right-hander does have 68 career saves but will merely be a setup arm to closer Brad Hand in Cleveland if he's in the big league bullpen. You can ignore Clippard in fantasy.
