Ty Buttrey Throws Bullpen Tuesday
5 years agoLos Angeles Angels relief pitcher Ty Buttrey (intercostal) said he threw a 20-pitch bullpen session in Florida on Tuesday and has been training seven days a week during the coronavirus shutdown. Buttrey continues to practice social distancing and has no health concerns with him or his family. The right-handed reliever tweaked his intercostal muscle in spring training, but he should be just fine for whenever the 2020 season kicks off. Expect the 27-year-old to be the primary setup man to closer Hansel Robles again this season. Buttrey had a 3.98 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, two saves and 84 K's in 72 1/3 innings for the Halos last year and can be valuable to fantasy owners in leagues that reward holds.
