Twins Likely To Move Nelson Cruz?
3 years agoThe Minnesota Twins are likely to end up as sellers at this month's trade deadline, and they will likely look to move designated hitter Nelson Cruz, who is 41 years old and eligible to be a free agent after this season. Cruz hasn't slowed down at his age, batting .310/.382/.584 with 18 home runs and 45 RBI in 70 games. But with his status as a full-time DH, it eliminates a move to the National League, and an additional 10 American League teams are either not in contention or have a full-time DH already. The Chicago White Sox, Tampa Bay Rays, Toronto Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners are five teams that could make a play for him. Cruz continues to hit no matter what ballpark he's in, but it's fun to envision him playing for a contender such as the White Sox, Rays or Blue Jays.
