Twins Continue To Talk With Nelson Cruz
4 years agoThe Minnesota Twins continue to talk with designated hitter Nelson Cruz about a reunion. Major League Baseball sent out a memo this week that they don't plan to use the DH in the National League again in 2021, which will drastically shorten Cruz's list of suitors. The veteran slugger hit .308/.394/.626 with 57 home runs over 173 games with the Twins in the last two seasons and hasn't showed many signs of slowing down despite his age (40). He hit .303/.397/.595 with 16 home runs and 33 RBI in 185 at-bats for Minnesota in the shortened 2020 season. Cruz is likely looking for a raise after making $13 million a season the last two years. This could obviously be the last contract that he signs in the major leagues.
