Trevor Williams Resumes Throwing
5 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Trevor Williams (side) is throwing again and has been stretched out to 105 feet and off a slope. Barring setbacks, Williams should be able to return to the Pirates rotation sometime in June. The right-hander was having a fine season before his injury, going 2-1 with a 3.33 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 54 innings over nine starts. The 27-year-old doesn't whiff a lot of batters but relies on pinpoint control and inducing soft contact. He'll surely return to being a streaming option in deeper leagues when he's back.
