Trevor Story's Ligament Is Intact
6 years agoColorado Rockies manager Bud Black said that doctors gave shortstop Trevor Story (elbow) good news on Tuesday. Story is dealing with inflammation in his right elbow, and the ligament is intact. However, the team is still waiting for a thorough diagnosis, and it's unclear if Story will be able to return this year. The fact that the ligament is still intact could mean that Story can avoid Tommy John surgery, which would likely keep him out for all of 2019. The MVP candidate was a five-category contributor for fantasy owners this year, so it'll be a huge loss if he can't play again this year. Garrett Hampson got the nod at shortstop on Tuesday, but Pat Valaika might also factor in at the 6.
