Trea Turner Running Close To 100 Percent
6 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner (hamstring) ran at almost 100 percent intensity on Thursday, according to manager Rob Thomson. Turner will run again tomorrow for the third straight day. The 30-year-old shortstop said on Sunday that he's "getting close" to returning from the 10-day injured list. While Turner is getting close and making excellent progress, the Phillies are going to be cautious, meaning it's not a lock that he'll return this weekend or even early next week. The good news for fantasy managers that have been patiently waiting for Turner to return is that he's not expected to need a minor-league rehab assignment before rejoining the Phillies. The two-time All-Star will be a must-start when he returns and was batting a cool .343 (47-for-137) before his injury. Edmundo Sosa will move back to a bench role for the Phils when Turner makes his return.
