Travis d'Arnaud Expected To Be Ready For Opening Day
6 years agoNew York Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen expects catcher Travis D'Arnaud (elbow) to be ready by Opening Day, which would be 11 and a half months after his Tommy John surgery. d'Arnaud had just 15 at-bats in 2018 before going under the knife. He hit .244/.293/.443 with a career-high 16 home runs and 57 RBI in 112 games in 2017, but he continues to be slowed by injuries and his bat hasn't really come around like the team had hoped. d'Arnaud has yet to play more than 112 games in a season and remains a big injury risk in two-catcher leagues.
