Tony Pollard Could Have a Role Right Away for the Cowboys
5 years agoDallas Cowboys rookie running back Tony Pollard could have a fantasy-significant role almost immediately in the 2019 season. The Cowboys drafted Pollard in the fourth round, which was considered an overdraft by some, meaning they have a plan for him and wanted to make sure to leave the draft with him on the roster. Pollard will of course be behind Ezekiel Elliott on the depth chart, but he won't be strictly used as a handcuff for the star running back. Pollard ran a 4.37 40-yard dash at his pro day and will be one of the fastest players on the Dallas roster. The Cowboys like using fast guys who can catch the ball and play in a hybrid role, like Lance Dunbar, Tavon Austin, and Lucky Whitehead. Pollard comes with some risk of course, but he could be a sleeper asset in PPR leagues as early as Week 1. He'll be someone to keep an eye on during training camp.
