Tony Gonsolin Resumes Throwing
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Tony Gonsolin (shoulder) is throwing from 180 feet, but he hasn't progressed to throwing off a mound. There is no timetable for Gonsolin's return from right shoulder inflammation. The good news is that the 26-year-old looks to be making progress, but he's not exactly close to a return. He has yet to pitch an inning in 2021 after impressing with a 2.31 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, 46 strikeouts and seven walks in 46 2/3 innings over nine outings (eight starts) for the Dodgers in the regular season last year. Gonsolin is a valuable swing man for the Dodgers when he's healthy, but he can be left to the waiver wire in most standard mixed leagues for now. As long as he's out, it should benefit Dustin May.
