Tommy Kahnle Expected To Be Ready For Opening Day
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Tommy Kahnle (elbow) has made excellent progress from Tommy John surgery, and he's expected to be ready for Opening Day after missing all of the 2021 season. Kahnle has yet to pitch for the Dodgers after signing a two-year, $4.75 million deal. The hard-throwing 32-year-old right-hander will add depth to LA's bullpen in 2022. In seven MLB seasons, Kahnle has a 3.82 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP while striking out 344 hitters in 277 2/3 innings. Kahnle pitched just one inning in 2020 with the New York Yankees before getting injured, but he had a 3.67 ERA and 1.06 WHIP while striking out 88 hitters in 61 1/3 innings for the Yanks in 2019.
