Todd Frazier's Return Is Imminent
6 years agoNew York Mets corner infielder Todd Frazier (oblique) is expected to return from the injured list "any day now," according to manager Mickey Callaway. Frazier played in nine innings in a rehab game on Thursday for Single-A St. Lucie and has appeared in back-to-back minor league games without issues. He's had 26 plate appearances and has seen action at third base, first and shortstop. Frazier could be more of a utility infielder when he makes his season debut. Rookie Peter Alonso has been excellent at first base, while J.D. Davis and Jeff McNeil have performed well in a timeshare at third. Frazier hit .213 with 18 home runs in 115 games in 2018 and was on the disabled list twice. He'll mostly be an NL-only option for depth.
