Texans Receiving Calls For No. 2 Pick
2 years agoHouston Texans general manager Nick Caserio said at his pre-draft press conference on Monday that he has received calls from teams looking to trade up to No. 2 overall in this year's draft. "Are we open for business? We're open to listening," Caserio said. In addition to the second overall pick, the Texans have the No. 12 pick in the first round. They are in full rebuild mode under new head coach DeMeco Ryans heading into 2023, so if the Texans keep the second overall pick, it would be pretty surprising if they didn't take one of Alabama's Bryce Young or Ohio State's C.J. Stroud -- basically the signal-caller that the Carolina Panthers don't take at No. 1 overall. If Houston did trade away the second overall pick, they'd receive a massive haul which would give them even more early round selections in order to beef up their current roster.
