6 years agoNew Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said quarterback Teddy Bridgewater "absolutely" is the team's backup behind Drew Brees. "He's doing well," Payton said. "I'm pleased. ... He's a quick study and I think the (quarterback) room's doing well. I think right away, you can tell he got comfortable with what we're calling things, protections." Bridgewater played very well in the preseason for the Jets before being traded to New Orleans, so he's the guy should Brees get injured. Bridgewater is healthy, that's what matters most. If he's forced into playing time, he could immediately become an option in two-QB leagues in a strong offense.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
