Taylor Clarke To Make First Start Tuesday
6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Taylor Clarke will make his first career start against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. Clarke recorded a save and a hit in his first big league outing on April 20 against the Cubs. Clarke will get the first chance to fill in for Zack Godley, who was moved to the bullpen. The right-hander is the team's No. 10 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and was 3-1 with a 6.12 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 25 innings over five starts for Triple-A Reno. He won't be a recommended fantasy play in his starting debut on Tuesday. It remains to be seen if he'll get more than one start.
