Tavon Austin Has Been Spark Plug Of Receiving Unit
6 years agoDallas Cowboys wide receiver Tavon Austin is being called the "spark plug" of the wide receiver group in training camp and has been used all over the field. He has lined up in the slot, on the outside and taken handoffs on end-arounds. The 28-year-old is also the front-runner to be the punt returner. Austin hasn't done anything for fantasy owners in years, and he had only 13 catches for 47 yards and 59 carries for 270 yards and a touchdown in his final season with the Rams. He said that wrist and hamstring injuries limited him in 2017. It's good to see that Austin could be utilized more in his new digs, but it might speak more to the Cowboys lack of depth than Austin's prowess on the field. Until he shows fantasy owners that he isn't just a speedy gadget player, he should probably continue going undrafted in standard-sized leagues.
