Taijuan Walker Throws Off Mound Tuesday
6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Taijuan Walker (elbow) threw off a mound on Tuesday for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery last April, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Walker threw 20 pitches and has hit all the marks in his recovery schedule up until this point. The 26-year-old pitched in three games last year before being shut down, allowing five runs in 13 innings. He had a 3.49 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 28 starts in his first full season with Arizona in 2017. If he continues to progress, he could make his 2019 debut around midseason. We wouldn't recommend expecting much from Walker this year, but he could be useful in deeper leagues in the second half.
