Super Bowl Champs Add Clyde Edwards-Helaire To Backfield
5 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs selected LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday. Edwards-Helaire had a school-record 55 catches for the Tigers in 2019 and is a luxury pick for the Chiefs in an already loaded Chiefs offense. He'll join a backfield that includes Damien Williams and Darwin Thompson at the top of the depth chart. Edwards-Helaire is a great scheme fit for KC with excellent change of direction in his cuts. He should really help the Chiefs in catching the ball out of the backfield and can become a three-down player at the next level, which is bad news for Williams. Head coach Andy Reid will surely find ways to feature him in the screen game. Expect Edwards-Helaire to potentially flirt with RB3/flex value right away in PPR leagues with Patrick Mahomes dumping him short passes.
