6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Steven Souza Jr. avoided salary arbitration on Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $4.125 million deal, according to a source. Souza managed 30 home runs and 16 stolen bases in his final season with Tampa in 2017, but he came back to Earth in 2018 by hitting a measly .220/.309/.369 with only five long balls, 29 RBI and six steals in 72 games because of injuries. Souza has an attractive power-speed combination, but he rarely stays on the field for long stretches of time due to injuries. You could do much worse with a late-round flier in deeper leagues, though.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
