Steelers Want To Get James Conner More Involved
6 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner has underwhelmed since his big season opener, and offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner thinks it's his fault. “I probably just need to do a better job heating him up,” Fichtner said, referring to giving Conner more carries. “It’s just like quarterbacks, too. You get into a rhythm. And all good running backs, they need that rhythm.” Conner has had fewer than 10 carries in two of the last three games, with eight for 17 yards in Week 2 and nine for 19 yards in Week 4. Fantasy owners realized quickly that Conner is not Le'Veon Bell after Week 1. He hasn't scored since Week 2 and is more of a low-end RB2 until Bell returns from his holdout. However, Conner should see more work in what is expected to be a shootout against the Falcons this Sunday.
