Steelers Optimistic About Ben Roethlisberger's Recovery
5 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers are optimistic that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) will recover from elbow surgery to reattach three tendons in his right arm. Big Ben isn't cleared to throw yet, but he is recovering nicely and wants and expects to play in 2020 and beyond, according to sources. Roethlisberger, who will be 38 in March, made it just two games in 2019 before being lost for the season. However, he went 452-for-675 for a career-high 5,129 yards, 34 touchdowns and 16 interceptions just last season and could rebound with better health in 2020. His 2018 season was also with both Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown, though. Given his injury concerns and age, Big Ben will be a midrange QB2 target if he returns for another season.
