Steelers Not Closing The Door On Antonio Brown Returning
6 years agoPittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney II isn't closing the door on wide receiver Antonio Brown returning for his 10th season in the NFL. Despite the fact that Brown hasn't returned calls from players, coaches and even Rooney himself, Rooney indicated that the team can fix the fractured relationship with Brown. “There are a lot of factors we have to take into account on it,” Rooney said. “We’d have to sit down with Antonio and understand where he is and make sure he understands where we are. There is some work to do before we figure that out.” If Pittsburgh trades Brown, they'd likely do it before March 17 when he is due a $2.5 million roster bonus. All signs have pointed to the Steelers trading Brown this offseason because of the headaches he continually causes the organization, but the team is taking a softer stance now. This will be a storyline to watch up until the spring, as Brown is still one of the league's best pass catchers.
