Steelers Likely To Trade Antonio Brown
6 years agoThere is now a high probability that the Pittsburgh Steelers trade wide receiver Antonio Brown before the new league year starts in March. He's due a $2.5 million roster bonus after the new league year starts, so the Steelers would like to move him before that. Brown would have a salary cap hit of more than $20 million if he's traded, but Pittsburgh will also receive a $14.5 million salary cap credit from running back Le'Veon Bell's holdout. Brown is one of the best wideouts in the NFL, but the team has had enough of his off-field issues and diva-like qualities. He's had six straight years of 100-plus catches and 1,000-plus receiving yards, so he'll remain an elite WR1 if he's dealt. JuJu Smith-Schuster has proven capable of being a No. 1 receiver in the league in his two seasons and would be Ben Roethlisberger's top target if Brown is indeed dealt.
