Steelers Highly Unlikely To Trade Antonio Brown
6 years agoAlthough Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown caused another headache for the organization when he got into a dustup with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger before practice last Wednesday which led to him being inactive in Week 17, the Steelers are unlikely to trade Brown, at least before June 1. Pittsburgh would absorb a $21.12 million dead-money salary cap hit if they traded Brown before June 1, while a post-June 1 trade would save over $15.1 million. Brown remains an elite receiver in the NFL, so the Steelers will likely try to smooth this over before next training camp and next season. Entering his age-31 season in 2019, Brown should still be the first wideout off the board in the first round of drafts in the fall.
