Steelers Could Use Transition Tag On Le'Veon Bell
6 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers could still place the transition tag on running back Le'Veon Bell, but it would likely be with the intention of trading him because they don't want him for another season, according to sources. Teams can't use the transition tag until Feb. 19 and have 15 days to decide if they want to use it. The tag would have a value of around $9.5 million to $14.5 million for one season. It's unlikely Bell and his agent, Adisa Bakari, would cooperate and help the Steelers work out a trade with another team. Bell could receive offers from other teams while on the transition tag, and the Steelers would be unlikely to match them. Bell's fantasy value is up in the air right now without a team for 2019, but he still remains one of the best all-around running backs in the game even after sitting out all of 2018.
