Spencer Strider Looks For Health, Return To Dominance
3 mins agoAtlanta Braves starter Spencer Strider missed most of the 2024 season with a damaged ulnar collateral ligament which was fixed by an internal brace procedure. Strider was coming off a 20-win season in 2023 with a 3.86 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP, and a whopping 281 strikeouts in 186 innings. The current expectation is that Strider may make one Cactus League start this spring, but then will need time to prepare in extended Spring Training for a possible return to the Atlanta rotation by the end of April. Should that end up coming to fruition, loom for Strider to make about 20 starts in the 2025 season. It's best to keep expectations modest; look for seven or eight wins, and maybe 110-120 innings with helpful ratios and 1400-150 strikeouts. Should Strider suffer any setbacks this spring, plan accordingly to downshift these projections, as any further missed time will cut into his statistics.
