Sixto Sanchez To Face Hitters Saturday
2 years agoMiami Marlins right-hander Sixto Sanchez (shoulder), the team's No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will toss one inning of live batting practice on Saturday. It will be his first time facing live hitters since March of last year. Sanchez had right shoulder surgery on July 20 of last year and continues to work his way back. The 23-year-old is taking things slowly in his recovery and hasn't had any setbacks, but he still has a ways to go and is not expected to pitch in the majors at all in 2022. Sanchez made his MLB debut in 2020 and had a 3.46 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 33 strikeouts in 39 innings over his first seven starts.
