Sixto Sanchez Progresses To 120 Feet
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sixto Sanchez (shoulder) has moved his throwing program to 120 feet. Sanchez would have likely made his season debut by now, but he was shut down earlier this year. It's good news that he's back on the rehab trail, but there's still no timetable for the 22-year-old right-hander's return in the second half of this season. The Marlins are understandably being cautious with Sanchez after he went 3-2 with a 3.46 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 33 strikeouts and 11 walks in seven starts over 39 innings in his rookie season in 2019. He's obviously a must-stash in dynasty/keeper leagues, but those with other injury issues to their starting rotation can hold off on adding him in shallow leagues until we have a better idea of when he might make his 2021 season debut.
