Shohei Ohtani Won't Make Debut Against Blue Jays
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels manager Brad Ausmus said designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (elbow) won't make his season debut in the upcoming series against the Blue Jays this week. Ohtani had six more plate appearances against live pitching over the weekend, bringing his total up to 15. The Angels want the two-way star to get around 40 plate appearances before he goes on a minor league rehab assignment. The team is still targeting an early-May return as the team's regular designated hitter. Ohtani has a nice blend of power and speed at the plate and should be stashed in all fantasy formats.
