6 years agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (elbow) took 26 swings in batting practice on Tuesday. Ohtani continues to expand his baseball activities with an eye on returning as the team's primary designated hitter in late April or early May. The Japanese two-way start underwent Tommy John surgery last October and won't pitch at all in 2019, but his blend of power and speed at the plate makes him worth stashing in all mixed leagues. Justin Bour, who hasn't hit much to open the year, could lose significant playing time when Ohtani returns.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
