Shohei Ohtani On Schedule After Surgery
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (elbow) is progressing on schedule after having Tommy John surgery, and he is almost fully able to extend his right elbow. General manager Billy Eppler said there won't be a more clear timeline for Ohtani's return until January. All we know is that Ohtani won't be able to pitch at all in 2019. However, he's expected to continue as the team's main DH when right-handers are on the mound next year. That'll make him worth owning as a hitter in all fantasy leagues, as he hit an impressive .285/.361/.564 with 22 home runs, 61 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 326 at-bats in his rookie season.
