Sergio Romo Resumes Throwing
5 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Sergio Romo (shoulder) is throwing a bullpen session on Wednesday after tweaking his non-throwing shoulder earlier in the week. He remains on track to be ready for the start of the season and won't need much time to get his arm ready for a setup role in his first full season with the Twins. The 36-year-old (37 in March) had 17 saves with the Marlins and three in Minnesota after his trade last year. However, he'll mostly be a setup man for closer Taylor Rogers in 2020, meaning he's unlikely to have fantasy value unless you're in a league that rewards holds for relievers. Otherwise, he's just a low-end handcuff to Rogers.
