Sergio Romo Re-Signing With Twins
5 years agoThe Minnesota Twins and relief pitcher Sergio Romo agreed to a one-year deal on Friday. The deal includes a club option and $5 million guaranteed with a chance to earn $10 million. The 36-year-old reliever went 2-1 with 20 saves and 60 strikeouts in 60 1/3 innings over 65 relief outings with the Marlins and Twins in 2019. Seventeen of Romo's saves came in the first half of the year as the Marlins closer. Although he was more of a setup man in Minnesota down the stretch, he pitched even better with the Twins to close out the year. He's projected to enter 2020 as a setup man in his first full year in Minnesota, and he won't have much fantasy appeal unless he's closing games out at some point.
