Seahawks Take DeeJay Dallas
5 years agoWith the 144th overall pick in the fourth round, the Seattle Seahawks selected Miami running back Deejay Dallas. It makes sense that the Seahawks would go with a running back in this draft after both Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny went down late last season with season-ending injuries. Dallas runs with plenty of effort and has above-average balance after contact. He moved from receiver to running back midway through the 2017 season, so he's a little raw at the position, but he shows good ball skills because of his hands. Seattle will need to develop him as a pass-blocker for quarterback Russell Wilson, but he'll bring necessary insurance for Seattle's run-first offense. Dallas can also contribute in the return game, as he averaged 17.4 yards per punt return back in 2018.
