Seahawks Pursuing Devonta Freeman, Carlos Hyde
5 years agoWith the Seattle Seahawks uncertain when running back Rashaad Penny (knee) will return for the 2020 season, a report from Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio on Wednesday stated that the Seahawks "have made an offer" to running back Devonta Freeman. NFL Network's Michael Silver later reported that Seattle has had talks with Carlos Hyde. Seattle's offer to Freeman was for one year and $4 million, but he also has offers from the Jets and Eagles, so he's pushing for more. The Seahawks are standing firm in their offer. Seattle has also been in contact with Marshawn Lynch. It's evident that they want to add a veteran back to pair with Chris Carson in short-yardage and goal-line situations, especially since it looks like Penny will land on the Physically Unable to Perform list to begin training camp.
