Seahawks Optimistic About Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny
5 years agoSeattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said on Sports Radio 950 KJR that he feels good about both running backs Chris Carson (hip) and Rashaad Penny (knee) coming back from serious injuries that they suffered at the end of last season. Head coach Pete Carroll has also maintained optimism with Carson, while saying that Penny would likely begin training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Seattle is a team that leans heavily on the running game, so the recoveries of both Carson and Penny are important. Carson was the lead back before his injury, rushing for 1,230 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games. He has RB1 upside in this offense but is a bit risky because of his injury history. Penny was in a secondary role as mostly a pass-catcher, but he was peaking at the time of his ailment and could become a wild card in PPR leagues when he's fully recovered from his knee injury. Penny's fantasy value could also depend on whether the Seahawks add to the position in next week's draft.
