3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara had his worst month of the year so far in July. Over four starts, he posted a 4.26 ERA with a 1.89 K/BB ratio. However, he was dominant in his first start of August. Facing the New York Yankees this past Sunday, Alcantara pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and a walk while matching a season-high with 10 strikeouts. Alcantara is 6-9 on the year with a 3.12 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP. He has allowed a barrel rate of just 4.5%, which ranks in the 89th percentile. Look for him to build off his strong start against the Yankees and return to his early season form.
