Sammy Stafura Launches Second Home Run In As Many Days
3 months agoCincinnati Reds shortstop prospect Sammy Stafura went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI on Wednesday evening. This was his second consecutive game going deep. Through his first look at Single-A ball, the 19-year-old has performed well with a .266/.376/.417 line, five home runs, 30 RBI, 17 swiped bags, and a 32:57 BB:K ratio. Since July 3, the young infielder has begun to heat up at the plate, holding a .286 AVG and a .473 SLG. Stafura opened the campaign, getting his second look in Rookie League, and posted a stellar .345/.449/.582 line. Stafura currently sits as the 14th-best prospect in the Reds pipeline on MLB.com and could see most of the next summer at High-A, given his current trajectory.
