Samaje Perine Injures Ankle Thursday
6 years agoWashington Redskins running back Samaje Perine (ankle) was evaluated for a sprained ankle on his first carry of the preseason game on Thursday. He broke off a 30-yard run on his only run after entering the game after starter Rob Kelley. This is especially bad news after the Redskins lost rookie Derrius Guice (knee) to a torn ACL last week. It's unclear how severe Perine's injury is, but a high ankle sprain could put him in question for Week 1. That'd be good news for Kelley, who appears to be the lead back for now, with Chris Thompson likely to handle third-down duties.
