Samaje Perine Back In The Mix In Denver's Backfield?
12 months agoDenver Broncos running back Samaje Perine began the year as Denver's "lead back" with Javonte Williams being eased in due to a knee injury he suffered the year prior. Perine then lost the No. 2 role to rookie Jaleel McLaughlin midway through the year. However, in the last two games, Perine has re-emerged, catching seven passes for 60 yards in Week 11 and carrying the ball seven times for 55 yards and a touchdown in last week's win over the Cleveland Browns. The 28-year-old's TD plunge last Sunday came when Williams was being evaluated for an injury, though, so fantasy managers probably shouldn't put too much stock in it. Against the Houston Texans in Week 13, Perine will be battling for touches with McLaughlin behind Williams, making him more of an RB4/flex in the deepest of fantasy leagues.
