Sam Darnold Trending Towards Playing In Week 14
6 years agoWhile New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles has declined to say if rookie quarterback Sam Darnold (foot) will return to face the Bills in Week 14, it is trending in that direction. Bowles said Darnold was healthy enough to play against the Titans in Week 13, but the team didn't want to throw him back in after a three-week layoff and after just three practices. It's a timing and rust issue for Darnold, but as long as he progresses in practice this week, he should play against Buffalo. The 21-year-old rookie tossed four interceptions in his last start and has had his share of struggles this year. Receiver Quincy Enunwa should benefit from Darnold returning, but it's hard to trust any of the Jets receivers in the fantasy playoffs. Darnold will be a low-end QB2 option in two-QB leagues if he returns against an underrated Buffalo secondary.
