Sam Darnold Could Miss Multiple Weeks With Mono
5 years agoNew York Jets head coach Adam Gase said that quarterback Sam Darnold (illness) could miss several weeks with mononucleosis. Darnold has already been ruled out for Week 2's Monday night affair against the Browns. The Jets have already signed Luke Falk to back up Trevor Siemian for however long Darnold will be out. With Siemian under center, you'll need to downgrade all of New York's skill players, and that includes running back Le'Veon Bell (shoulder), who might be questionable to suit up himself. The news surrounding Darnold and Bell is making Cleveland's defense/special teams very intriguing come Monday night. Siemian will be a QB2 to avoid.
