Salvador Perez Goes Yard For His 34th Home Run
3 years agoKansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the team's 6-5 loss to the Houston Astros on Wednesday. The home run was his second over his last three games and his 34th of the year. He is currently tied with Fernando Tatis Jr. for third in the majors in home runs, trailing just Shohei Ohtani (40) and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (36). Perez is slashing .272/.309/.524 over 125 games on the year. He's already set career-highs in home runs and RBI (82) and is well on pace for the best season of his career apart from maybe the shortened 2020 season when he had an OPS of .986 over 37 games.
