Royce Lewis To Start Rehab Assignment On Tuesday
4 months agoMinnesota Twins third baseman Royce Lewis (groin) said he's been told he will start a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday. Lewis resumed baseball activities during the All-Star break last week and is now ready for rehab games this week as he works his way back from a groin injury. The oft-injured 25-year-old could be ready to return from the injured list this weekend after missing the last three weeks. If the former first overall pick is somehow available on your league's waiver wire, he must be picked up immediately. Lewis has had a tough time staying on the field early in his big-league career, but when he's been on the diamond, he's been an elite source of power. He'll be returning to a .292/.354/.685 slash line with a 1.039 OPS and 10 home runs in just 89 at-bats.
