Royals Agree With Brad Boxberger
6 years agoThe Kansas City Royals agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal with free-agent relief pitcher Brad Boxberger on Wednesday, according to a source. Boxberger was an All-Star with the Rays in 2015 when he notched a career-high 41 saves, and he had a 4.39 ERA with 32 saves for the Diamondbacks last season while striking out 71 and walking 32 in 53 1/3 innings. The 30-year-old has a nice 11.6 K/9 in his seven seasons, but he might just be in a setup role behind Wily Peralta for the rebuilding Royals. He won't have much fantasy appeal with his new squad.
