Rockies To Monitor Charlie Blackmon's Calf Injury
5 years agoThe Colorado Rockies will monitor outfielder Charlie Blackmon's (calf) injury after he was forced to leave the blowout loss early on Thursday after initially fouling a ball off his leg. “(The trainers) said this isn’t the kind of thing you want to take lightly,” Blackmon said afterward. “You want to make sure you are good to go.” He also said it's too early to tell if he'll miss any games this weekend. If he's forced to miss additional time, Ian Desmond will fill in in the outfield. Blackmon is on a hot streak and has hit safely in 28 of his last 30 games and has reached base safely in 18 straight games, so this injury comes at a bad time. Overall, he's hitting .300 with 10 home runs and 31 RBI.
